Family Nights

WINTER Family Nights

Winter Family Night is a private event hosted by Family Building Blocks for families who are enrolled in or partnering with the organization’. It’s held each winter (typically in February) as a way for the nonprofit to say THANK YOU! to these families for their partnership!

The event features free food, family-friendly activities, and opportunities for community engagement, creating a welcoming atmosphere where parents and children can enjoy quality time together. This event is an amazing opportunity to foster connection among families, staff, and volunteers.

Attendance is by invitation or RSVP through a teacher or home visitor, as the event is not open to the general public but intended as a special gathering for families directly served by the organization. Volunteer roles are available for community members who want to support.

❤️❄️❤️❄️ FROM WINTER FAMILY NIGHT 2026: We LOVE our families! We are grateful for everyone who attended our love-themed Winter Family Night 2026. Thank you to McKay High School for opening the doors to our community, including our Family Building Blocks partnering families, volunteers, board members, and staff. We LOVED the opportunity to enjoy a delicious dinner together and participate in family activities.

We served around 400 folks (180+ adults and 220+ children!), and with the support of our amazing volunteers and staff, we welcomed just over 475 people to the event. Together, we played sensory activities, decorated cookies, offered face painting, and captured family photos. We gave away 125 books to families to promote early literacy and help spark a lifelong love of reading. We were also thrilled to have Gentle Dental on site providing free dental evaluations to help keep our children healthy and smiling. We love those joyful smiles! ❤️ ❄
