Helping raise nearly $2 million since it began in 1990, the Gala of Trees has supported the efforts of many nonprofit organizations serving children in need in Marion and Polk counties. We are proud to continue this legacy of caring for the youngest among us as the host of the annual Gala of Trees.

Uncorked Wine Auction has helped raise over $4 million to prevent child abuse and neglect in Marion and Polk counties since 2008. For each family in our programs, there are at least three more who remain unserved and would greatly benefit from support. Our Therapeutic Classrooms, Home Visiting, and Parent Education programs help over 780 families in Marion and Polk counties. Annually, 99% of children in our prevention programs remain living safely with their families, avoiding foster care and the devastation of abuse and neglect.

Capital City LIVE! benefits children and families partnering with Family Building Blocks. Each year, our Therapeutic Classrooms, Home Visiting services, and Parenting Education programs support over 1,100 children and 750 families in Marion and Polk counties. Annually, 99% of these children remain living safely with their families, avoiding foster care and the devastation of abuse and neglect. While youth correctional facilities and foster care cost tax payers nearly $140,000 a year per child, Family Building Blocks’ critical prevention programs cost just $7,500. If you have a dollar to spend, spend it on prevention!

Held at Salem's Riverfront Park the first Saturday of each August, Riverfront Family Fest is one of the largest child-friendly community events in Salem with nearly 4,000 parents and children each year. This health and safety resource fair is free to attend. With a range of family-friendly activities, Riverfront Park comes to life, providing a safe and fun place for families to spend time with each other and to build new relationships with other community members.
