Family Building Blocks

We work to prevent child abuse and neglect

Tens of thousands of child abuse reports are filed in Oregon every year.

Relief Nurseries like Family Building Blocks support high-risk families with children under six years old

We provide children’s therapeutic classes, parent education, home visits, and other services for families.

Family Building Blocks helps more than 600 young children a year.

150 children are consistently on our waiting list for services.

We invest in the children of our community

Watch how Family Building Blocks is a great investment for our community.

Family Building Blocks is a prevention program:

  • Child abuse prevention
  • Foster care prevention
  • Crime prevention

For 11 years, Family Building Blocks has been keeping children safe and families together. We have served over 2,500 high-risk children and their families.

Last year 98% of the 355 children enrolled in our therapeutic classrooms and home visiting programs were able to continue living safely with their parents , thus avoiding the trauma, heartbreak and expense of foster care.

We are indebted to a community that cares. The majority of the funding for our intensive, wraparound services for children and families comes from private donors and foundations. We are also fortunate to have over 400 volunteers who donate more than 12,000 hours of service every year.
